Once Upon a Prom

Once Upon a Prom was started in 2012 by two local women, Jennifer Rooney and Liz Poteete, in conjunction with The Boys and Girls Clubs of the Chippewa Valley. Once Upon a Prom provides prom dresses and accessories (shoes, jewelry, handbags, makeup and local coupons) to Chippewa Valley and surrounding area girls who cannot otherwise afford them. In return for these items, each girl must agree to donate six volunteer hours to a community service of her choosing.
Because of the success of the last two years’ events, at least one hundred or more girls are anticipated to participate this year.
Community members can donate any gently used, clean dresses and/or accessories they may have (All donations are tax deductible.) Donations may be dropped off at the following locations:
Area High Schools: Augusta, Eau Claire Memorial, Eau Claire North, Menomonie, and Regis
Boys and Girls Clubs of the Chippewa Valley: 201 East Lake Street, Eau Claire or 21 East Grand Avenue, Chippewa Falls
Williams Diamond Center, 2823 London Road, Eau Claire
Plato’s Closet, 3561 Gateway Drive, Eau Claire
