ECCT TO HOST STARQUEST 2015 FINALS
Eau Claire, WI – Eighteen area youth will compete in the finals of the Eau Claire Children’s Theatre’s twelfth annual Starquest competition on Saturday, December 5, at 7:30 p.m., at The Oxford, 1814 Oxford Avenue, Eau Claire.
Inspired by the popular TV show “American Idol,” the event is a vocal competition for youth ages 18 and under. Thirty-seven area youth entered this year’s contest and competed in the preliminary round on Saturday, November 14. The competition, sponsored in part by I Heart Media Eau Claire, is open to youth in two categories, ages 14-18 and ages 13 and under, and performers were judged on vocal ability, presentation, and professionalism by a panel of area music and theatre professionals. Ten finalists in the 13 and under category and eight in the 14-18 group were chosen to compete at the Starquest 2015 finals on December 5. At the event, a new panel of judges will determine a winner and runner-up in each category.
Miss Wisconsin 2015 Rosalie Smith will emcee Starquest 2015. Last year’s Starquest winners, Grace Pichler, a 15-year-old homeschooled sophomore, and 13-year-old Sophia Pinno, Bloomer High School freshman, are also scheduled to perform.
The following performers will compete in Starquest 2015.

• Sophia McCutcheon, age 12, Crestview Academy
• Bernadette Rechek, age 12, Altoona Middle School
• Keyton Solberg, age 13, Chippewa Falls Middle School
• Margaret McMenomy, age 12, Regis Middle School
• Michaela Haig, age 13, South Middle School
